NSI (Online) Ltd sale
Meta Corporate Finance is pleased to announce the sale of NSI (Online) Limited, a digital publishing business focused on serving the police, military and security markets with an innovative range of digital publications, forums and online information resources. NSI Online’s portfolio includes the UK’s market-leading policing portals, forums and job sites.
The Company’s flagship title, PoliceOracle.com was established in 1999 by serial-entrepreneur Geoff Hyams upon leaving the Metropolitan Police Force and represents the first in a stable of successful businesses he has built, as well as his second successful disposal after he sold the online dating business he founded; UniformDating.com, to Cupid Plc. Having successfully implemented a metered paywall for Police Oracle and expanded the Company’s online and print publications to reach an international audience, Hyams appointed Meta Corporate Finance to undertake the sale of NSI Online to enable him to focus on new projects.
The Company has been sold for an undisclosed sum to the Red Snapper Group; the foremost staffing services provider for the crime, offender management, criminal intelligence, regulatory risk and security work communities. Martin Jerrold, owner and Managing Director of Red Snapper commented “I am extremely pleased to have completed the transaction to acquire NSI Online – it represents an important and strategic purchase for Red Snapper Group and we are confident that we can continue to build on the Company’s successes to date to provide high-quality information and services to our shared client base.”
The transaction was negotiated and managed by Meta with legal advice provided by Andrew Hoad. Meta commented “NSI Online has a distinctive business model and a unique access to a loyal audience which a number of potential purchasers found attractive. It has been a pleasure to work with Geoff and his fellow shareholders on the sale of NSI, as well as the Red Snapper team who worked hard to make themselves the front runner in the transaction. We wish both parties every success in their respective new ventures.”
Geoff Hyams added “I am grateful for the work Meta put in to delivering and managing the transaction within a short time-frame. I started Police Oracle from my living room in 1999 – it has been an exciting process to watch the audience grow as we have developed resources to meet the specialist needs of the police, military and security readership, however we felt the timing was right for a transaction to ensure progress and I am confident that Red Snapper can continue to improve the product offering.”
