Newmedica concludes MBO

New Medical Systems Ltd (Newmedica) and Consultant Eye Surgeons Partnership Ltd (CESP) are pleased to announce that they have concluded the management buy-out of Newmedica.

The transaction will allow both companies to develop in their respective market segments. Newmedica will consolidate its current portfolio of NHS services and create a platform for the continued growth of its business. CESP will continue to build its services to the private medical market and to its partner eye surgeons.

The arrangement maintains the support and involvement of CESP and CESP LLPs in Newmedica’s business and to reflect this CESP will retain a significant minority stake in Newmedica. The management team of Newmedica consists of Jeremy Diamond, Nigel Kirkpatrick, Tim Manners and Darshak Shah.

The Newmedica management team was advised by Peter Counsell of Meta Corporate Finance.

Newmedica delivers outpatient eyecare and surgery in a number of locations in the UK. Newmedica’s focus is on developing and deploying high quality services that are innovative and efficient. Newmedica has a particular focus on glaucoma services.

CESP is the largest single speciality grouping of medical consultants in the UK. CESP Ltd is the national umbrella organisation and facilitates the business of twenty-three local CESP partnerships. CESP counts 180 leading consultant eye surgeons as partners, accounting for 20% of the country’s total. CESP primarily provides eyecare services in the private medical market.
